Our favourite dishes from Jordan and Israel

It is said “There is no love sincerer than the love of Food.”
So for you foodies who love to try out new dishes, here is a list of 3 must-try dishes in Jordan & Israel that you simply must check out, when you wander there.

Jordan:

Mansaf: This is like the national dish of Jordan. Made of tender lamb and cooked in a sauce of fermented dry yogurt called Jameed, Mansaf is often served with rice or bulgur for the right taste.

Tabbouleh: Made of tomatoes, finely chopped parsley, mint, bulgur, and onion, Tabbouleh is a vegetarian dish served in Jordan. It is often seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, and salt.

Osmaliyeh: This is one of sweet delicacies of Jordan. Made of shredded filo dough and stuffed with rose water cream, with the generous toppings of crushed pistachio, this sweet is a taste to savour every bite.

Israel:

Falafel : Made from either ground chickpeas or fava beans, Falafel is a traditional Middle Eastern food. It is a deep-fried ball, doughnut or patty, commonly served with Pita or Arabic Bread or wrapped in a flatbread known as Taboon. Falafel also refers to a wrapped sandwich that is prepared in this way. Topped with salads, pickled vegetables or white sauce Falafel is one of the lip smacking food item in Israel that one should try out.

Tahini : It is one of the traditional dishes of Israel. Made from toasted ground hulled sesame seeds, Tahini is a spicy food item which mostly serves as a dip on its own or served mostly with other food items.

Kanafeh: Made from semolina or from a crust of long thin noodle threads, Kanafeh is a cheese pastry soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup. It is the traditional sweet dish of this country.
