Day 1
WELCOME TO PANTANAL
Arrive at Cuiaba airport. Drive to Pantanal. The first half of the journey is on a paved road along farms and cattle ranches. After reaching Poconé – we take the Transpantaneira Park Road. This road allows us to drive above the water level, watching the flora and fauna of the Pantanal ecosystem. It’ll be a photo safari along 32 km of dirt road with several stops along the way for photos and information. Upon reaching, proceed for a guided introductory walk through the surroundings of the lodge. Then, continue to the Great Egret Lookout, a 12m/39ft high observation tower. Post dinner, proceed for a night walk under the Southern Hemisphere sky. Overnight stay in the lodge.

Day 2
CANOEING AND TREKKING
After breakfast, take a photo safari through private dirt roads towards the Clarinho River. Reaching its banks, board a canoe and paddle down the river exploring the forest that grows by the riverbanks and mangroves. Here, lives a colony of “ariranhas” – giant river otters. With some luck, you may spot a family playing with their babies and teaching them how to swim and fish. The chance of fishing the elusive piranha, not an easy task, but fun. Return to the Lodge for lunch. Later, trek the Howler Monkey trail to the Howler Monkey Tower, highest observation point (25 m high) for a magnificent view of the sunset. After dinner, join a night drive in search of nocturnal animals. Overnight stay in the lodge.

Day 3
PANTANAL
Have leisurely breakfast at the lodge and relax. Post lunch, trek the Rondon Trail towards the 13m high Jabiru Stork Tower to watch a Jabiru Stork nest. The largest flying bird in the Americas, jabiru storks are often found in the marshlands of the Pantanal. It grows 4 to 5 feet tall and has a wingspan of 9 to 12 feet. The nests are woven platforms from large branches measuring as much as 10 ft across. Jabiru storks are strong fliers that can soar like vultures. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4
JAGUAR EXPRESS
After morning coffee, depart for Cuiabá River by the Transpantaneira road (2h30 approx). Embark on motorboats for river safari. We go for an exciting 6 hour search of the elusive, dreaded and admired jaguar! We will be navigating through the rivers Cuiabá, Piquiri, Três Irmãos and other canals, searching for the 3rd largest feline on the planet. Have packed lunch. We return to port Jofre around 5pm. Embark on the vehicle in which we came, and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5
DEPARTURE
Wake up early for a sunrise walk to witness the awakening of Pantanal. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Post breakfast, check-out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Sao Paulo and from Sao Paulo to your flight back home.
