The Croatian capital has it all; the arts, music, culture & gastronomy. Tourist flock here to visit historical monuments, museums, art galleries. -
Day 2
Exploring Zagreb
Today after breakfast, check out and get ready to explore Zagreb on walking city tour. Take a ride by the shortest funicular in the world. Running every ten minutes, the funicular railway in Zagreb connects the Lower Town to the Upper Town. Explore Mirogoj Cemetery, Zagreb Cathedral from outside and the Museum of Broken Relationship (entrance included) which are the highlights of this city. Zagreb is made for strolling. Crane your neck to see the domes and ornate upper-floor frippery of the Lower Town's mash-up of secessionist, neo baroque and art deco buildings. Search out the grittier pockets of town where ugly-bland concrete walls have been transformed into colourful murals by local street artists. Later we drive to Plitvice Lake (147 kms/2 hrs 15 mins) and check in. Dinner & Overnight stay in Plitvice lakes.
-
Day 3
To the Plitvice Lakes
After breakfast, check out and head to Plitvice National Park and spend the morning on a walking tour of the National park. Within the boundaries of this heavily forested national park, 16 crystalline lakes tumble into each other via a series of waterfalls and cascades. We break in the middle to have lunch in a local restaurant in Plitvice lakes area. Later, drive towards Zadar (120 kms/1 hr 45 mins) through mountainous landscapes giving way to Adriatic Vistas. On arrival check into the hotel and relax. The old town is full of wonderful tourist attractions for you to explore while its rejuvenated waterfront is the perfect place to kick back and relax. Overnight stay in Zadar.
-
Day 4
Zadar - Šibenik - Split
Today after breakfast, check out and proceed for the morning guided tour of Zadar. Home to a historic old town of Roman ruins, medieval churches, cosmopolitan cafes and quality museums set on a small peninsula, Zadar is an intriguing city. We then savor the enchanting Mediterranean scenery of medieval towns, orange roofed fishing villages, and deep bays with white pebble beaches as we drive south towards the ancient city of Split. Enroute we stop in Sibenik (90 kms/1 hr 15 mins) and visit to St James Cathedral (entrance included), one of the most important Gothic architectural monuments in the eastern Adriatic, and also UNESCO World Heritage site. Later we will drive to Split (86 km/1 hr 15 mins) and check into the hotel. Spend the rest of the evening at leisure discovering the ancient Split on your own. Overnight stay in Split.
-
Day 5
Explore Split & Trogir
Explore Croatia’s second largest city, the beautiful coastal Split. Walk among the ancient monuments in the historic city core on a guided walking tour of the city that grew around the Diocletian’s Palace, one of the most imposing remains of Roman architecture in Croatia. A walk through the narrow streets and alleys unveils a vibrant mix of historic buildings and trendy coffee bars, restaurants and shops. We will also visit Diocletian cellars (entrance included). Later in the afternoon drive to Trogir (26.8 km/1 hr 10 min). The old town has retained many intact and beautiful buildings from its age of glory between the 13th and 15th centuries. In 1997 its profuse collection of Romanesque and Renaissance buildings earned it World Heritage status. On arrival, proceed for the guided walking tour for Trogir including the entrance to St Lawrence Cathedral. Return back to Split for overnight stay.
-
Day 6
Split to Dubrovnik
After breakfast, check out and drive to Dubrovnik. Enroute, spend some time on your own in a small town called Ston (54 km/1hr). The town walls are perhaps what this little town is best known for – and rightfully so. The walls are much longer than those of its more famous neighbour Dubrovnik, making them the longest defensive structure in Europe; they are sometimes referred to as the ‘European Walls of China”. Later transfer to Dubrovnik (54.1 km/1 hr). Those who seek paradise on earth should come to Dubrovnik” George Bernard Shaw once said. Today, this Croatian city is the most popular destination on the Adriatic coast, and it’s easy to see why. On arrival check into the hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Dubrovnik.
-
Day 7
Dubrovnik
After breakfast proceed for the guided walking tour of Dubrovnik. Regardless of whether you are visiting Dubrovnik for the first time or the hundredth, the sense of awe never fails to descend when you set eyes on the beauty of the old town. Indeed it’s hard to imagine anyone becoming jaded by the city’s limestone streets, baroque buildings and the endless shimmer of the Adriatic. It is a wonderful experience to walk down the Walls of Dubrovnik. The walls are 1940 meters long with 6 fortresses (Lovrijenac, Revelin, Minčeta, Bokar, St John and St Lucas). Spend your afternoon at leisure. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
