Day 2
Quito to San Cristobal Island
After breakfast at the Hotel, transfer to the airport to catch flight to San Cristobal Island, the fifth largest and easternmost island of the Galapagos. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel for check in. Later, visit the Interpretation Center, it is an excellent place to learn about Natural History in the Galapagos and to learn about the San Cristobal History too. The Museum of Natural History displays information on the volcanic origins of the islands, their remoteness from the continent, ocean currents, climate, the arrival of the different species and their colonization, among other points of interest. Human history is also showcased, chronologically narrated by the most significant events related to the discovery and colonization of the islands. Break for lunch (at own expense). Later, proceed for hike to Frigatebird Hill for approx 2 hours/ 3.5 km. Frigatebird Hill is also called Tijeretas because this is the name commonly known for the frigate birds, it involves a high-intensity walk amidst beautiful landscapes and a magnificent view at the foot of a frigatebird nesting colony. After the hike, back to the hotel for overnight stay.
-
Day 3
Punta Pitt
After breakfast, proceed to Punta Pitt (Approx 1 hr 45 mins). Explore the eastern end of San Cristobal Island. This unique location boasts a 90-meter beach and several natural viewpoints that offer stunning views of an eroded hill made of volcanic tuff. A 1,400-meter trail winds from Oliviana Beach to the hilltop, where you will encounter a breathtaking display of vibrant colors from various types of lava. The sand at Oliviana Beach, scattered with bright crystals from lava erosion and seashells, offers a perfect spot for sunbathing sea lions. While relaxing here, you will have a chance to observe an array of birdlife, including frigate birds, pelicans, herons, and seagulls. Punta Pitt is one of the few places in the Galapagos where we can see all three species of boobies—blue-footed, red-footed, and masked—alongside two species of frigate birds, making it a true haven for wildlife enthusiasts. After a day full of exploring wildlife, back to the hotel for overnight stay.
-
Day 4
Española Island
After breakfast, the navigation to Española Island takes approximately two hours, bringing you to one of the most spectacular destinations in the Galapagos. Our first stop, at Suarez Point, is perfect for spotting iconic wildlife such as blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, and large waved albatrosses. This stunning site, perched along the oceanfront, offers dramatic views as albatrosses launch themselves from the cliffs. Next, head to Gardner Bay, located on the northeastern coast of Hood Island. This serene bay features a beautiful beach, perfect for relaxing, swimming, and kayaking. In the crystal-clear waters, you may spot playful sea lions, swim alongside graceful sea turtles, and even glimpse small white-tip reef sharks cruising near the shore. The area is also rich in birdlife, providing the opportunity to observe three species of Darwin’s finches; The large-billed cactus finch, The small-beaked ground finch & The singing finch. Both resident and migratory birds populate this region, making it an exceptional destination for birdwatching and nature lovers alike. Later, back to the hotel for overnight stay.
-
Day 5
San Cristobal to Santa Cruz
After breakfast, take a two-hour boat ride to Santa Cruz Island. Arrive in Puerto Ayora, the largest settlement in the archipelago. From there, take a 30-minute transfer to the highlands of Santa Cruz. In this lush area, private farms protect pristine native and endemic vegetation, creating a perfect habitat for the magnificent Galapagos Tortoise. Here, you will have the opportunity to get up close to these incredible creatures. As you follow the winding trail through the landscape, there are plenty of chances to marvel at the Galapagos Tortoise in all its splendor—so be sure to bring your camera! These majestic tortoises, known for their dome-shaped shells and massive size, are often found partly submerged in mud ponds, where they combat skin parasites or regulate their body temperature on warm, sunny days. In the late afternoon, continue your journey to the hotel in Puerto Ayora for overnight stay.
-
Day 6
Bartolome Islands
After breakfast, make way to Bartolome Island. This island offers some of the most unique and breathtaking landscapes in the Galapagos Archipelago. On our day trip to Bartolome, we will hike to the top of an extinct volcano along a wooden pathway, climbing almost 395 steps. During the hike, we will pass by fascinating geological formations created by the last volcanic eruption, such as small lava tunnels, spatter cones, and scoria cones. It will feel like walking on the moon! Along the way, we may spot endemic vegetation like Lava Cactus and Tiquilia plants, as well as some of the island’s famous Darwin Finches. Once you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with a stunning panoramic view of Pinnacle Rock, a striking volcanic tuff cone that rises from the water. After a perfect hike back to the hotel for overnight stay.
-
Day 7
North Seymour Island
After breakfast at the hotel, it is time to visit North Seymour, a small island in the Galapagos Archipelago, home to a rich diversity of wildlife. It is one of the best places to observe the frigatebirds with their dramatic red balloon-like throats, as well as the blue-footed boobies performing their charming dance. We will also encounter land and marine iguanas, Galapagos sea lions, fur seals, and various seabirds, including swallow-tailed gulls, shearwaters, and tropic birds. Our walk on this magical island will take about 2 hours, immersing you in its vibrant ecosystems. After the hike, return to the boat for lunch and then sail to Bachas Beach, a key nesting area for sea turtles. Here, we may also spot flamingos in the small lagoon. This day will also include a snorkeling activity, where you may have the chance to swim with sea turtles, rays, white-tip reef sharks, and colorful fish. Back to the hotel after an adventurous day. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
