Day 1
Welcome to Lima!
Arrival in Lima, transfer to the Hotel and check-in. Rest day is free to relax, leisure and explore on own. In the evening, proceed for dinner at Huaca Pucllana Restaurant. Overnight stay In Lima.

Day 2
Colonial and Modern Lima
Post breakfast, proceed for a half day city tour of Lima. Visit the modern and colonial parts of Lima, known as “The City of Kings”. Walk along some of the most historically important streets of the city, such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral & the Archbishop’s Palace in the Plaza de Armas. Visit two ecclesiastical spaces of great magnitude: the imposing Cathedral and the Convent of Santo Domingo. Then proceed to Rafael Larco Herrera Museum, one of the most important in the country for exhibiting a valuable collection of almost 45,000 pieces of pre-Hispanic cultures. Spend some free time in Miraflores area. Later, visit the ‘Magic Water Circuit’. It’s included in the Guinness World Records list for becoming the largest fountain complex in the world. Visit the Tunnel of Surprises, Dream Labyrinth & Children’s Fountain. Proceed to the “Fountain of Fantasy” light show to witness the essence of Peruvian culture. Then, transfer to D Paso Restaurant for an amazing dinner show. Enjoy the Peruvian dances & Peruvian Horse Show. Return to the hotel. Overnight stay in Lima.

Day 3
Lima – Arequipa
Post breakfast, check-out & transfer to the airport to board flight to Arequipa (not included). Upon arrival in Arequipa, proceed for a half day city tour. Explore the heart of Arequipa. Stop at Yanahuara and Carmen Alto viewpoints from where you can see the city at the foot of the imposing Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu volcanoes. Visit the historic center and the beautiful Main Square and churches such as the Company of Jesus & walk through the streets. End your walk by visiting Monastery of Santa Catalina. Enter the cloisters, walk through its narrow corridors, and admire its internal plazas, considered colonial architectural treasures, as well as rooms that house beautiful canvases from the Cuzco School. Then, transfer to your hotel and check-in. Dinner & overnight stay in Arequipa.

Day 4
Arequipa - Colca
Post breakfast, check-out & transfer to Colca (3 hours approx). One of the essential destinations to visit in Arequipa is the Colca Canyon. Enroute, stop at the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, which is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Continuing along way, reach 4,000 meters above sea level, from where you can appreciate the Misti, Pichu Pichu and Chachani volcanoes, as well as the stone forest. Then enter the Pampa de Toccra, home of the alpaca, as well as varieties of birds in which the elegant flamingo stands out. Continue at the Andes viewpoint, known as ‘Patapampa’, the highest point of the Colca Canyon with a height of 4,910 meters above sea level. From here, observe the eight volcanoes that form the famous circle of fire. Then, descend to your last destination of the day: Chivay, a town near the Colca Canyon. In the afternoon, go to the La Calera thermal baths, a quiet source of water from the Cotallumi volcano. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. Dinner & overnight stay in Colca.

Day 5
Colca – Arequipa
Post breakfast, check-out and start the day early heading towards the canyon. Arrive at the Cruz del Cóndor, a viewpoint from where you can appreciate the beautiful scenery of Colca, one of the deepest canyons in the world & witness the majestic flight of the Andean condor, a species that inhabits this area. Continue to visit picturesque town of Pinchollo, the Wayra Punku town, and the Antahuilque viewpoint from where you can see amphitheater-shaped agricultural terraces and lagoons that surround the valley. Make a stop in the town of Maca, whose beautiful church attracts visitors for its mestizo baroque style. Return to Chivay and finally head back to Arequipa (3 hrs approx). Dinner & overnight stay in Arequipa.

Day 6
Arequipa - Cusco
Post breakfast, check-out and proceed to the airport for your flight to Cusco (flight not included). Upon arrival in Cusco, proceed for a half day city tour. Cusco is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Start your tour at the Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and cult center of the Sun God, above which the order of the Dominicans built a church, which remains standing to this day. Next, visit the Main Square & the Cathedral, the most important temple in the entire city. Then the adventure continues at the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko & Puca Pucara. Then transfer to the hotel and check-in. Dinner & overnight stay in Cusco.

Day 7
Cusco – Sacred Valley - Cusco
Post breakfast, proceed to for a full day tour of the Sacred Valley (1hr 30min approx). Visit Chinchero, a small picturesque Andean village. Enter the home of a textile artisan, where you will see some of his original work and learn about his techniques, as well as his creative process. Then, visit the important Inca ruins dating back to the end of the 15th century, where you’ll observe its traditional church. Later, stop at a viewpoint for one of the best views of the Sacred Valley. Famous for its terraced fields, Ollantaytambo was a very effective fortress and also a religious center. Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, visit one of the most representative building complexes of the Inca Empire and site of one of the Spanish Conquistadors. Return to Cusco. Dinner & overnight stay in Cusco.

Day 8
Welcome to Machu Picchu
Post breakfast, proceed for a full day tour of Machu Picchu. Shrouded by mist and surrounded by lush vegetation & steep escarpments, Machu Picchu lives up to every expectation. Your adventure starts on a train ride to Aguas Calientes, also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. The natural beauty of the surroundings makes the train ride the best way to start your visit. After a short bus ride from Aguas Calientes, begin the ascent to the ruins. After you reach the top, take a tour of Machu Picchu learning the history and mysteries of one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Return back to Aguas Calientes and spend some time exploring before boarding the train for the return trip to Cusco. Dinner & overnight in Cusco.

Departure
Post breakfast, check-out & transfer to the Cusco airport and proceed to board the homebound flight from Lima International Airport.

Regarding the hotels, what does OR SIMILAR refer to?
OR SIMILAR means that the hotel booked might be different from the hotel mentioned in the itinerary. 90% of the time we book the hotel that’s mentioned, but under few situations it might differ due to on-the-ground factors. So we pick an alternate hotel, but always in the same class and area of the city. -
